What is Sermorelin Acetate or (GHRH)?
Sermorelin Acetate is a biological active analog of growth hormone releasing factor (GRF 1-44) which is a growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) produced by the brain to stimulate the production and release of growth hormone from the pituitary gland. When the volume of human growth hormone (hGH) is increased, it stimulates the production of Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) by the liver. When we are young, generous amounts of GHRH (Growth-Homone-Releasing Hormone) are produced, allowing the pituitary to provide the body with plenty of growth hormone to maintain growth, health, and vitality. As we age, GHRH production decreases and leads to growth hormone scarcity which can inhibit healing, health, and vitality.
Why do practitioners prescribe Semorelin?
Sermorelin Acetate is often prescribed as a cost effective alternative to human growth hormone for adults with human growth hormone deficiency as diagnosed by a licensed physician. Proponents of Sermorelin therapy also affirm its many positive effects and advocate that it helps rejuvenate youthful energy and vitality. Other observations include:
- Accelerates healing from wounds or surgery
- Aids in development of lean body mass and new muscle cells
- Enhances the immune system
- Increases calcium retention and bone density
- Increases strength and endurance
- Improves ability to concentrate
- Improves sleep quality
- Reduces body fat through lipolysis
- Strengthens the heart
Sermorelin therapy is prescribed by a practitioner as a daily subcutaneous (under the skin) injection, usually done before bedtime in order to mimic the body’s normal circadian rhythm. It can be obtained from AgeVital Pharmacy when prescribed by a licensed practitioner. We are always happy to work with you and your physician to determine if Sermorelin therapy is right for you. How does Sermorelin therapy compare to Human Growth Hormone therapy?
Human growth hormone therapy and Sermorelin therapy have significantly similar treatment benefits since injected recombinant human growth hormone (Somatropin) is genetically engineered to have the same DNA structure as innate human growth hormone, the very hormone stimulated by Sermorelin. However, due to the higher cost of the genetically engineered human growth hormone medication (Somatropin), Sermorelin is often preferred by patients. Also, since Sermorelin stimulates the body to produce growth hormone, proponents of the therapy often highlight that it is naturally limited by the body’s regulatory mechanisms in its effects, as opposed to Somatropin, which must be closely monitored in order to ensure appropriate results.
